DESCRIPTION

Tungurahua is an active volcano, located in the Andean zone of Ecuador. The maximum summit is 5016 meters above sea level. It is in the tenth place of the highest mountains in Ecuador.

Tungurahua comes from the Kichwa word which means "throat of fire".

INCLUDES: Travel insurance, private transport, tour guide, box lunch, photographs, entrance to the nature reserve.

REQUIREMENTS: Warm clothing, closed and/or trekking shoes, water jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks, water.

ESTIMATED DURATION OF THE TOUR: 8:30 am. to 6:00 pm.

1. We depart from the city of Baños at 01:00 pm. During the journey of approximately 40 minutes by private car, we arrive at the entrance control, located at 2800 meters above sea level.

2. Next, we start the walk to the refuge, located at 3800 meters above sea level. Acclimatization is important at this point. It is 4 hours approx. journey.

3. The next day 1:00 am. the walk is approximately 6 hours from the refuge to the maximum top of the volcano.

4. 08:00 am. We arrive at the Tungurahua volcano summit.

5. 09:00 am. We return to the refuge. The descent is approximately 3 hours.

6. 12:00 pm. Food, hydration, rest in the refuge.

7. 01:00 pm. We return from the refuge to the entrance control "Pondoa" is 3 hours walking approximately.

8. 04:00 pm. We return by vehicle to “Baños de Agua Santa” city.
